Maite Esteve, director of the Fundació Catalunya Cultura, will be the guest speaker at the El Periódico Afterwork in January.
With a degree in Law and specialising in the direction and management of associations and foundations, social and solidarity economy and cooperatives, she has directed projects for the Princess of Girona Foundation and is a member of the organising committee of the IMPULSA Forum and the IMPULSA/FPdGi Awards. She was responsible for setting up the Labour Court of Catalonia in Girona (2006-2010), and for the Legal Services of the Gala-Dalí Foundation (2000-2006).
Esteve has been director of the Fundació Catalunya Cultura since 2018. The entity, which already has 10 years of history, works to connect the cultural and business world, and for the private sector and civil society to give the value that culture has as an economic engine and social transformation.
Aware that it is necessary to have better financing instruments and a strong Patronage Law, the Fundació has put special effort into the reform of the Patronage Law, which should facilitate the involvement of companies in supporting culture and allow the development and maintenance of cultural activities as is done in other European countries.
This new law, which is being drafted and proposed to the political parties so that they can take it to the Catalan Parliament, will undoubtedly be one of the most important objectives achieved by the institution.
