Expo 48 OHB: Your architecture and mine

From 13 to 24 October

Since 2010, the 48h Open House BCN (OHB) festival has been talking about architecture and allowing the public to explore the city in a different way, bringing them face to face with professionals, constructing their own particular vision of the city and telling us about the relationship they have with it. The exhibition brings together all these stakeholders and approaches the architectural experience lived by the subjects from a humanistic-random perspective.

SEAT: Barcelona, a pioneer in mobility and architecture
Architectural innovation in Barcelona in the 1950s came about through industrial architecture, which found the answer to its needs (functionality, light, hygiene, speed of construction, tight budgets, etc.) based on the parameters of rationalism. Industrial aesthetics became a trademark: architectural modernity was a reflection of the product's own modernity. SEAT played a fundamental role in the introduction of modern architecture in the city. In Zona Franca, it built buildings such as the factory, the offices, the canteens, a laboratory and an apprentice school, which became icons of modernity.
Buildings such as the Dining Rooms, the A-122 building (the pavilion where a collection of cars is exhibited today) and the SEAT House have participated in the 48h Open House BCN architecture festival, and have been visited by more than 2,264 people.
