Pandemics have been a constant throughout history and have changed our societies, leaving a mark on health, the economy and daily life. The HIV pandemic has caused more than 25 million deaths, the AIDS-19 pandemic nearly 7 million, and the cholera pandemic 1 million. But what will be next?
Climate change, wars, deforestation, and migratory movements are fueling the emergence of new pandemics.
But what can we do? Beyond individual actions, such as keeping a social distance, wearing masks, washing our hands frequently and staying informed, the scientific community also has important challenges. New vaccines, innovative treatments and more effective prevention strategies need to be developed to combat these threats.
At the Fight Infection Foundation, we promote clinical trials with the aim of finding solutions to future health problems. Research is an essential tool to protect global health and anticipate the health challenges of the future.
Don't miss the event “How can we prepare for a new pandemic?”. Come and we will reflect together on how to anticipate and protect ourselves in the face of future global challenges.
We are waiting for you!
Dr. Roger Paredes, scientific director of the Fight Against Infections Foundation and head of the Infectious Diseases Service at Germans Trias Hospital, will share his scientific knowledge to help us understand how we can better prepare for the possible arrival of a new pandemic.
Tickets available from December 19.
