Artist Sonia Sieff received her first camera at the age of sixteen. After starting her career in film and fashion, Sonia followed in the footsteps of her father, the legendary photographer Jean-Loup Sieff, author of portraits of Deneuve, Gaingsbourg, Rampling, Birkin or the iconic Yves Saint-Laurent nude, among others. Emulating her progenitor, she went behind the lens to create the photobook Les Françaises. Her debut as a photographer was highly praised for bringing a fresh, feminist take on the female nude. Rendez-vous! is her new work and with it she intends to complete her reflections on the evolution of gender expression.
In this new work she portrays fifty men from different backgrounds in different scenarios to celebrate diversity and body positivity. In the more than 100 photographs that make up this volume, Sieff offers his reinterpretation of the male nude and tries to capture the personality and inner world of the protagonists of the snapshots.
We invite you to get to know and discover the French artist's views on her productions and the function of photography.
