We invite you to a talk with the prestigious photographer Jaime Rojo, winner of the World Press Photo 2024 award for Photojournalism (North and Central America). During the event, Jaime will present his project on monarch butterfly conservation, in which he documents how communities in Canada, the United States and Mexico are coming together to save this emblematic species.
The migration of monarch butterflies is an amazing natural phenomenon, which is unfortunately endangered by climate change and industrial agriculture. Through his images, Jaime shows us the beauty of this migratory journey and inspires us to take action to preserve the monarchs, whose population has declined by 80% in recent decades.
A unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the work of a National Geographic explorer who has dedicated his career to the protection of nature. We are waiting for you to reflect on the power of photography as a tool for conservation and the importance of taking action to protect our planet.
Event in collaboration with the Photographic Social Vision Foundation, organizer of the World Press Photo exhibition in Barcelona.
